13 - Hydraulics Flashcards
What is on the L Hyd system and how is it powered?
Flight controls
L thrust reverser
L Eng driven pump
L Electric demand pump
What is on the R Hyd system and how is it powered?
Flight controls (Stab Trim)
R Thrust reverser
Normal brakes
R Eng driven pump
R Electric demamd pump
What is on C Hyd system powers and how it powered? (7) (1/2/4)
Flight controls (Stab Trim)
Leading edge slats
Trailing edge flaps
Landing gear
Nose gear steering
Main gear steering
Alternate brakes
C 1/2 Electric pumps
C 1/2 Air pumps
When do demand pumps operate?
System and/or primary pumps pressure is low, or when system logic anticipates a large demand
(Both C1 and C2 pumps can not operate simultaneously, C1 has priority)
What happens if C Hyd system quantity is low and airspeed is greater than 60 kts? (3)
- Nose gear actuation and steering are isolated and inop
- Alternate brakes are isolated from the center system and remain operable using reserve fluid
- Leading edge slats are isolated and not allowed to operate in the primary mode
When is gear steering reconnected? (3)
- Airspeed decreases below 60 kts
- Hyd press to C flight controls is low
- Gear down, both engines and Hyd engine pumps are operating normal
When does the RAT auto deploy? (3)
- Both engines are failed and C Hyd press low
- All three Hyd press low
- Both AC transfer busses are unpowered
What powers the RAM AIR TURBINE switch and how is the RAT deployed?
- Hot or APU battery bus
- Compressed spring
When is the RAT PRESS light illuminated?
- RAT deployed
- C Hyd primary flight control press greater than 1500 psi
What does the RAT power?
- Provides Hyd power only to C Hyd primary flight controls
- Provides stby power to CI and C2 TRUs
