Sebaceous glands
Around hair follicle
- produce sebum (oily)
- sebum collects dirt, softens & lubricates hair and skin
Sweat gland aka
Sudoriferous gland
Sweat glands types
Eccrine gland (99%) true sweat produce water and salts
Apocrine gland (located around genitalia, anal, and axillary) contains lipids and proteins.
First degree burn
Epidermis only
Second degree burn
Upper part of dermis is also damaged, blistering
Skin heals with little scarring
Third degree burn
Consume thickness of skin (white red or black), kills nerves less painful
