12 Lead Placement Flashcards
1
Q
2 kinds of ECG Leads
A
Bipolar leads, unipolar (augmented) leads
2
Q
Bipolar leads
A
Most frequently used; two different points on the body, one positive electrode, one negative electrode. Lead I, II, III
3
Q
Unipolar (augmented) leads
A
One positive electrode and a non polarized point that is created by the ECG machine two additional electrodes.
Lead aVL, aVF, aVR
4

A
a=augmented, V=voltage, L=left arm, F=left foot, R=right arm
