Outcomes Orientation of Initial Visit Forms
Documenting the pt’s expectations for change or pt’s goals at the start of each exam, reorganizing IE form layout, documenting goals for fxnl activities rather than impairments, or providing a place on the form for the pt to sign/initial the goals to indicate that they know and agree w/the expected outcomes of care
Routine Patient Documentation
Identifying specific timelines for recording measurements, standardizing measures recorded for every pt and/or the measures for pt’s w/specific dx’s, standardizing the methods for recording info so that all clinicians use the same method/style, clarifying processes for collecting specific types of pt measures
Service Delivery Processes
Refer to all the clinical and administrative activities experienced by a pt or that the business provides in order to manage the pt’s care
Clinical Processes
Refer to a clinician’s direct interactions w/a pt and can include changes that result from both review of the literature and/or data gathering/analysis
Administrative Processes
Changes that address what and how info is acquired, who collects & processes it, and how it might be used
Cost and Revenue Analysis
Studies of cost and revenue related to providing service
Staff Development
Done based on outcomes of studies on any aspect of the pt management process including types of exam processes used, application frequency or selected interventions, or the consistency in documentation processes
Final Report
Written report stating why the results occurred and identifies strategies to measure outcomes of implemented changes
Dissemination
Process of presenting ideas or study results publicly
Discussion
Simplest way of sharing outcomes research done through staff meetings, professional meetings, phone, email, or writing
Internal Reports
Read by clinicians and administrators in clinical or institutional settings
Poster Presentation
Formal presentations of the study in a graphic format on a large board, typically presented at institutional, state, and national professional meetings
Platform Presentation
10-30min oral presentation w/Q&A session at the end; More formal than a poster presentation
Non-Peer-Reviewed Publications
Published in newspapers, magazines, trade journals, and electronic bulletin boards w/focus on reviewing published articles/lit reviews on a topic rather than unpublished data; Useful for reporting about the experience of data collection and lessons learned from the process
Peer-Reviewed Publications
Most rigorous form of dissemination of original data;
