- chronic inflammatory disorder, predominately affecting younger adult males which distinctively involve the axial skeleton.
- articular ankylosis (s a stiffness of a joint due to abnormal adhesion and rigidity of the bones of the joint)
- ligament ossification,
- enthesopathy characterise the condition (A disease process occurring at the site of insertion of muscle tendons and ligaments into bones or joint capsules.)

- osteoporosis
