What is epigenetics?
When environments modify the genetic function/DNA
What does in utero mean?
When offspring development is impacted by the moms choices in diets or environmental factors

Collars and manipulating grazing behavior
What is a fistula?
a hole in an animal that allows “cannula” insert to things inside
What is sorting behavior?
When the animal sorts food and leaves scraps
What is eliminative behavior?
Training an animal to avoid certain behaviors
What is shelter-seeking behavior?
Seeking shade or warm environments
What is dominance behavior?
Typically the strongest and biggest animal fighting for power and control

to communicate and remove shedding

The animals fight or flight reaction
What is the Amygdala and what does it do?
A part of the brain that signals an emotional reaction
What is aggression?
When animals are violent or rebel, typically linked with an aggression genetic

The radius in which an animal perceives threats
What is curved design?
The eyesight of animals that have curved vision to spot predators
How do you keepg good meat quality before slaughtering animals?
Keep their stress levels low
Meat is analyzed for rigor mortis. What does that mean?
When meat is analyzed for its quality depending on the animals stress levels before slaughter
What does meat look like in stressed animals?
Has no PH level and is dark colored, firm, and dry
What does meat look like in unstressed animals?
It has more acidic PH levels with a bright red color
What is animal welfare?
Ability to express natural behaviors, emotional state of animals, and their functions
What are animal preferences?
The preference for living conditions that maximize their productivity
What is animal stereotypical behavior?
Reported non-functional behavior with no purpose
When do animals express stereotypical behavior?
When animals are not adjusted to their environment
