What is the difference between a qualitative and quantitative statement?
A qualitative statement is subjective and based purely off of observation without comparison. For example, the statement, “He is tall.” A quantitative statement is objective and typically uses numbers or measurement. For example, the statement, “He is 190 cm tall.”
What is interpolation?
An assumption about data that has already been collected.
What is extrapolation?
A prediction for data that is outside the data set
What is the difference between extrapolation and interpolation?
Interpolation is based off of data within the set, while extrapolation predicts data outside the data set.
What are the steps to calculate standard deviation?
1) find the average of the data set, 2) subtract the average from each value, 3) square each result, 4) find the average of these numbers, 5) find the square root of the average.
