Promoting Equality & Diversity
Everyone should be treated fairly and impartially (without judgement) when receiving care services; this is their right.

service users should be enabled to practise their religion in a residential home.
Promoting Individual Rights & Beliefs
-Some vulnerable clients may not be in a position to exercise their rights independently. The following principles protect these service users:
-all people have the right to be consulted and involved in decisions that affect them.
- people have the right to express their views and beliefs including the right to refuse care or treatment.
-they have the right to dignity, choice e.g. meals, what to wear, privacy, respect.
Maintaining Confidentiality
H&SC workers need to protect all individuals in their care by respecting confidentiality of personal information.
However sometimes confidentiality cannot be kept when requested and then should be passed on through a “need to know basis”.
Confidentiality rights are restricted in the following 3 situations
-When someone is at risk of harming themselves,
- When someone is at risk of harming others,
-When someone is at risk of being harmed by someone else.
Valses of Care in Child Care Services
-Making the welfare of a the child Paramount
-Keeping children safe and maintaining healthy environment
-Working in partnership with parents and guardians
-Encouraging children’s learning and development
