What is an OGD?
What does an OGD allow you to visualise?
- OGD= oesophagogastrodenoscopy
- Endoscope that allows you to visuallise oesophagus, stomach and first section of duodenum
What is a colonoscopy?
Endoscop inserted into anus allowing you to visualise colon
What is a laproscopy?
What must the periotneal cavity be insufflated with?
- Way of visualising external surfaces of GI tract by inserting camera +/- other tools thorugh small ports in abdominal wall
- Insufflated with CO2

What is Denonvillier’s fascia?
Fascia that seperates urinary bladder and prostrate from rectum
What is a TRUS biopsy?
Trans rectal ultrasound biopsy (must put needle through Denonvillier’s fascia)
What is culdocentesis?
Removal of fluid from pouch of douglas (go via vagina)
