How does thermoswitch type fire detection system work
A
Uses spot detectors and when these detectors are heated the circuit is completed causing a fire warning alarm

How does a continuous loop detector system work ( AKA fire wires )
A
2 types : thermister and pneumatic

How does pneumatic type continuous loop system work
A
When pressure of helium gas is great enough it closes a set of normally open contacts which initiates a fire warning system

- photoelectric ( measures amount of smoke in sample of air )
- ionisation ( measures current that flows through air )
- visual ( detects presence of smoke )
