Persons who will be required to undertake CPD (1)
A
All persons registered in the professional categories of the act under section 18 1 c
Persons who practice abroad (4)

Where a system is in place in the foreign country such a system may be accepted by the Council

Must submit documented proof of compliance
C
If a system is not in place, then proof of CPD activities need to be supplied for consideration.
D
If no CPD is undertaken the registered person will upon return be treated as newly registered person for CPD purposes.
Exemption from CPD requirements (4)
A
Retired persons:
Not doing any work and registered in category Non practicing.
B
When returning to active practice, the person will be treated as a newly registered person for CPD purposes
C
When fully motivated the council may grant partial of full exemption for any part of the 5 year cycle as deemed appropriate by council.
D
Although no exhaustive mental and physical disability of a debilitating nature will be cause for exemption

5 Year cycle (1)

Apart from the phasing in period the CPD system functions in a 5 year cycle
Cycle commencement (1)
A
This cycle either commences in accordance with provisions of table A of clause 15.3 or for persons registered after the commencement, on the date of registration.
Regrading (1)
A
Where a professional person is regarded, the date on which the person was originally registered will be the start date.
25 Credits in how long (1)
How many credits per year which categories (1)
At least one credit should be from CAT ? (1)
Excess credits can be ? up to the maximum (1)

During each cycle a person should attain a min of 25 credits.
B
A registered person must at least attain 3 credits per year out of the 3 categories in appendix A
C
At least one should be from CAT 1
D
Credits accumulated in excess of 5 in any particular year can be carried over in the 5 year cycle up to the maximum

Recording Methods

Unless exempt, all Persons must record their CPD in the following manner.
Manually by Post or Fax
Electronically in a password protected domain

Registered persons may submit CPD activities on continual basis.
C
Each CPD must not be submitted later than 30 days after the completion of each annual cycle
D
Each Registered person must retain documentary proof of each CPD activity for the 5 year cycle until the Council has confirmed registration.
When may council Audit (1)
A
The council may conduct random Audits.
Submission of Records how long after receipt of notice (1)
A
If a person has been selected for Audit, that person should within 4 weeks of receipt of notice submit documentary evidence.
What is seen as evidence of Attendance (1)
A
VA or accredited institution has provided a written verification
VA Approval for non recognised CPD provider (1)
A
Where a CPD is provided by a non approved CPD provider approval must be sought from recognized CPD provider.
How long after completion of an Audit Report should the council advise of outcome (1)
A
The council must advise a person within 30 days of completion on the outcome.
