A person must apply for registration for the categories stated in section 18 (1)
B
The Council must issue the Applicant in the relevant category and issue a certificate

Professional Registration issued based on demonstration of their competence and passed any exams that may be determined by the council

Candidate Registration issued based on passing exams in an accredited institution. Or having presented evidence of prior learning in Architecture

Which scenarios will result in a Cancellation of Registration (6)

Council may cancel registration if come under section 19(3)

Has erroneously been registered

Fails to pay the prescribed annual fee

When a candidate qualifies the council must cancel the registration as candidate

Cancellation due to improper conduct may only happen once the investigation has been concluded

A registered person must at least 3 months prior to the expiry of their registration apply in the prescribed manner.

Any person who’s registration has been cancelled in terms of the act has to return the certificate to the registrar within 30 days from the date as directed by the registrar

What should be done if a Grievance is felt because of cancellation (3)

A

A
If not agree on refusal to register, pay the prescribed fee and within 30 days from time of become appeal
B
Council must at first ensuing meeting within 60 days of receipt of appeal decide on appeal and provide appellant with reason for decision
C
If the appeal is again the cancellation of registration, the registration may not be affected until the appeal has been decided.
