Advantages of mass marketing

A
  1. Firms will use large scale production, benefiting from economies of scale (bulk-buying) which will lower costs of production and increase profit margins.
  2. The huge revenue derived from sales will allow firms to use the most expensive marketing.
  3. It increases brand awareness, increasing sales still further.

  1. High set-up costs prevent many firms from entering the market.
  2. If demand suddenly falls, machinery remains unused and the costs of producing each product increases.
