Q

How does altitude affect temperature?

A

As you climb higher, the temperature decreases. This is because solar energy warms the ground, not the air.

Q

How might humidity influence the type of organisms found in a region?

A

Humidity is the amount of water in the air. When humidity is low, organisms can dry out and die. For example, each year many trees in Alberta die during the winter when warm, dry chinook winds reduce the percent humidity in the air.
