Q

1.1.13

Describe a range of methods that can be used to prevent data loss

A
  • Data redundancy: Store information twice in diffierent locations of the same data storage system
  • Anivirus software: To detect and prevent malicious attacks
  • Offsite storage / Cloud storage: Backup data to a storage facility which is physically separate from the organization’s core infrastructure. Cloud storage uses the internet to store data in remote servers maintained by a service provider. (Considered the same by markschemes)
  • Regular backups: Increasing the frequency of data backups
  • Printed hard copies: Information could be hard copied.
