What are Natural disasters?
Natural disasters are negative, unexpected or uncontrollable natural events that threatens people.
What are Natural hazards?
Natural events that occur but dosen’t affect people.
Examples of Natural hazards caused by Atmospheric processes.
Tornadoes - Atmospheric

Volcanoes - Tectonic
What is the outer layer of the earth called?
The Crust
- its the thinnest layer
- hard and rigid
What is the area surrounding the inner core called?
The outer core
- surrounded by liquid layer
What is the widest section
The Mantle
- thickest section
What’s the hottest part of the earth?
The inner core
- at the centre of the earth
Two types of the earth’s crust?
Oceanic and Continental
Features of Oceanic crust(min. 3)
Underneath the ocean
Thin
Made of Basalt
Darker in colour
Can sink into the mantle
Always being destroyed and created
Features of Continental crust(min. 3)
its Land
Thick but light
Made of Granite
lighter in colour
Permanent so can’t sink
Can’t be destroyed
over 1500 million years old
