When to give irradiated blood:
BMT, ICH, blood from 1st or 2nd degree relative
When to give leukoreduced blood:
chronically transf pts, CMV -, potential transplant recipients, prev febrile nonhemolytic transfusion rxn (happens in 1-6 h)
When to give washed RBC:
IgA def, compl dependent A/I hemolytic anemia, allergic rxn despite histamine
Inf of lacrimal sac?
dacryocystitis (pain at medial canthus; staph/strep)
eyelid abscess
hordeolum
lid discomfort 2/2 chr granulomatous inflammation of meibomian gland
