A pattern of abusive behaviour used to keep or gain power and control over another person in a relationship

What is honour crime?
Violent crimes or other forms of abuse that are carried out in order to protect the ‘honour’ of a family or a community

Likely offender — a family member, usually from a different culture and an older generation

Little public awareness as they are very underreported
What is hate crime?
A crime motivated by prejudice that typically involves violence

Likely victim — people from a different culture/race, women, people with disabilities, people in the LGBTQ+ community etc..
Likely offender — older people, Caucasian people, patriots, men, traditionalists

High public awareness as it has been widely broadcast and talked about a lot
What is technological crime?
Any crime committed using the internet or other forms of technology
Analyse technological crime
Likely victim — anyone who uses the internet
Likely offender— anyone with access and knowledge of the internet
Some is deviant (internet fraud) and some is not (downloading illegal music)
Little public awareness as many don’t know what to look for
