1.000 AIRPLANE GENERAL Flashcards
- What exterior light(s) go(es) off automatically when landing gear is retracted?
NOSE taxi and takeoff lights
RWY TURN OFF lights
- What Nav and Logo light bulbs are connected to the NAV 1 and NAV 2 switch positions?
The NAV & LOGO sw(D) controls two sets of navigation lights on each wing and in the APU tail cone, as well as one set of logo lights in the upper surface of each horizontal stabilizer.
- When do the strobes flash in AUTO?
AUTO: The strobe lights come on automatically when the main landing gear is not compressed.
- What signs illuminate when you turn the NO PED switch to ON?
The NO PORTABLE ELEC DEVICE sw activates the EXIT and NO PED signs
- What lights illuminate when the EMER EXIT LT switch is placed to ON?
Overhead emergency lights and all EXIT signs and markings come on
- When will the overhead emergency lights automatically illuminate?
Overhead emergency lights and all EXIT signs and markings come on when the normal aircraft electrical power or DC SHED ESS BUS is lost.
The overhead emergency lights come on if the normal aircraft electrical power system fails, or:
• DC SHED ESS BUS fails, or
• AC BUS 1 fails
- When will the EXIT signs automatically illuminate?
The Exit signs come on if:
• Normal aircraft electrical power system fails or
• DC SHED ESS BUS fails
• Excessive cabin altitude (approximately 11,300ft.)
• The NO PED signs are illuminated
- What lights illuminate when normal aircraft electrical power fails?
Overhead emergency lights and all EXIT signs and markings come on when
the normal aircraft electrical power or DC SHED ESS BUS is lost.
- What occurs when the EMER EXIT LT switch is placed to OFF?
OFF: Overhead emergency lights and all EXIT signs and markings turn off and the EMER EXIT LT-OFF light illuminates amber.
- What Flight Deck lighting is available if normal electrical power is lost?
When normal electrical power is lost, only the Captain’s instrument panel, the right-hand dome light, and the standby compass lighting are available.
- What does the PASSENGER SYS ON light mean?
The PASSENGER SYS ON light comes on in white when the control for the oxygen mask doors is activated
- When do the masks automatically deploy?
The mask doors open automatically when the cabin altitude exceeds 14,000 ft.
- How long does the PAX oxygen last?
The mask receives pure oxygen under positive pressure for about 15 minutes until the generator is exhausted
- Where is oxygen stored for the crew?
D - A321?
A320 - a single, high-pressure cylinder located in the left-hand lower fuselage
D - A321 - two independent and mechanically-isolated sub-systems. The sub-systems supply oxygen as follows:
• Captain and the 3rd Occupant
• First Officer and the 4th Occupant
The two subsystems include the following elements:
• Two high-pressure cylinders
- What would you notice on the DOOR ECAM page if you set the CREW SUPPLY to OFF?
The CKPT OXY indication would be displayed in amber. It is normally displayed in white but becomes amber, when:
• pressure goes below 300 psi
• low oxygen pressure is detected
• the OXYGEN CREW SUPPLY pb on the overhead panel is OFF
