ACR DX Criteria for GCA requires 3+ or more of these 5 criteria:
A
1- 50 yo or older
2- New onset localized HA or localized head pain
3- Temporal artery tenderness to palpation or decreased pulsation
4- ESR of 50 mm/h or higher
5- Positive arterial bx
—vasculitis characterized by mononuclear infiltration or granulomatous inflammation, usually w. multinucleated giant cells

A
CLINICAL DX that Rqs:
- correct pt population (>50 yo)
- rapid SXS improvement with steroids
- elevated CRP/ESR

How does PMR present?
A
- proximal myalgia of the hip and shoulder girdles with morning stiffness >1 hr
- difficulty rising from chair or raising arms above head
