Oak
Hardwood with good durability and warp resistance, making it appealing for outdoor use.
Mahogany
Hardwood with remarkably good hardness, making it difficult to cut, but attractive for use in tables. Its deep brown and red colouring also makes it attractive.
Beech
Hardwood with good toughness, strength and hardness. It is used in flooring and musical instruments.
Jelutong
Hardwood with low density and long lifespan. It is easy to cut, but is not very durable. It is used for modelling
Balsa
Hardwood with low density, but not waterproof. Used for model buildings
Pine
Softwood. Inexpensive and lightweight. Prone to scratches. Used for furniture because of its light brown, knotty aesthetic.
Cedar
Softwood. Very durable and suitable for outdoor use. Orange-red colour. Used in fences.
Larch
Softwood. Insect and weather resistant. Difficult to manufacture. Used in Yacht and boat building.
Redwood
Softwood. Very long lasting, but not very durable, damaged easily. Used in construction timber and exterior furniture.
