Random Errors
Cause results to be spread about the true value due to the results varying in unpredictable ways. They affect precision
Systematic Errors
Usually cause each reading to be different to the true value by the same amount due to an error in the method or equipment. They affect accuracy
Precision
How close the data is clustered together
Repeatability
Where an experiment, repeated with the same method, equipment and people, produces precise results
Reproducibility
Where an experiment, repeated with a different method, equipment and / or people, produces precise results
Resolution
The smallest interval an instrument can measure
Accuracy
How close the results are to their true value
