1. Main Engine Flashcards
1
Q
Loss of Main Engine
A
- Reduce N1 on unaffected Engine, if required.
2
Q
Failure of Main Engine Auto Shutdown
A
- Reduce N1 on affected Engine.
2. Shut down affected engine.
3
Q
Main Engine High EGT or EGT Split
A
- Monitor EGT to ensure it does not exceed 1250deg F or differ more than 200deg F from the paired engine.
- Reduce N1 on affected engine, as required.
- Attempt to resume former N1 as EGT stabilizes.
- Shut down affected engine prior to EGT reaching 1275deg F.
4
Q
Main Engine Surge/Stall
A
- Reduce N1 on affected engine as required.
- If symptoms clear, resume former N1 settings.
- If symptoms persist, shut down affected engine.
5
Q
Loss of Fuel Manifold Pressure
A
- Open crossover valve.
- If fuel pressure continues to drop, close crossover valve, go hull borne, shut down affected engines and fuel system.
- If fuel pressure continues to drop, shut down unaffected engines and fuel system.
6
Q
Clogged Main Fuel Filter
A
- Depress P or S PRS TEST key on universal keyboard to bring off line pump on line.
7
Q
Loss Of N1 Control
A
- Reduce N1 on affected engine to minimum.
- Switch engine control channels and attempt to resume former N1 setting.
- If normal operations are not restored, shut down affected engine.
8
Q
Loss of N2 Control
A
- Reduce N1 on affected engine, if required.
- Switch engine control channels and attempt to resume former N1 and prop pitch setting.
- If normal operations are not restored, shut down affected engine.
9
Q
Loss Of Engine Balance Control
A
- Ensure engine balance is ON.
- Reduce N1 on affected engine to min.
- Switch engine control channels and resume former settings.
- If engine balance is not restored, turn engine balancing OFF and manually balance using N1 knobs.
10
Q
Main Engine Low Lube Oil Pressure
A
- If lube oil pressure continues to drop or low lube oil quantity is indicated, shut down affected engine.
11
Q
Main Engine High Lube Oil Temperature
A
- Reduce N1 to lower L/O temp, as required.
- If L/O temp continues to rise or remains >235 Deg F, reduce N1 to minimum, set to idle, and shut down affected engine.
12
Q
Blow-In Door Open
A
- Reduce N1 on affected engine to MIN.
2. Shut down affected engine.
13
Q
Chip Bearing
A
- Shut down affected engine.
14
Q
Chip Sump
A
- Shut down affected engine.
15
Q
Anti-Ice Overtemp
A
- Select Main Engine page.
- Acknowledge alarm.
- Verify ambient air temperature is <40 deg F. If T1 temp is = 120 deg F, no further action is required.
- If a main engine T1 temp is >120 deg F, secure associated main engine.
