Q

What is the meaning of spontaneous generation?

A

Is the idea of that living organism could be formed from non-living matter e.g. dirt, sand etc.

However, by sterilizing a liquid in a flask by heating and then putting the flask so the liquid was in level with part of tube that been “infected” by dirt and microorganism. This made microorganism growing in the liquid again.

Showed that microorganism are present in the air and is not form from non-living matter.

Q

What is the five contributes by Koch?

A
  1. The pathogenic organism should be present in all cases of the disease and dosent in healthy animals.
  2. The organism should be grown in pure culture.
  3. The cells from pure culture should cause disease in healthy animals.
  4. Organism should be re-isolated and be the source as the orginal.
