They’re still shutting David out of Jerusalem, so David is out there with his commander Joab and they begin to mock David by taking blind and lame people and putting them on the wall. (a blind man doesn’t know which way to throw a stone or shoot and arrow and a lame man doesn’t have any strength in his body. They began to mock him saying “unless David can come up here and take away the blind and the lame he can’t come in here” • David said something he should have said. “Cursed are the blind and the lame who are the hated of David’s soul” • Joab finds a way into the city through the water system. He becomes the genereal• The blind and the lame aren’t even allowed in the city b/c of what David said
