What are the most valuable imaging modalities for imaging the CNS?

A

Ultrasound and MRI good for no radiation (but ultrasound of limited use in adults).
Others (X-ray, CT, angiography nuclear etc) OK, but not for radio-sensitive patients.

What is the difference between T1 and T2 MRI?

A

T1 - fluids are dark. Vertical relaxation time.

T2 - fluids are bright. Horizontal relaxation time.
