Xtrap recuse Xtrap - Electrically
Which Train has the trip lowered?
The train which has the lead facing the direction of travel
Xtrap recuse Xtrap - Electrically
Which positions are the EMS in for both trains?
EMS 2 for assisting and disabled
Xtrap recuse Xtrap - Electrically
Assuming the assisting train comes from the rear and the trains will continue to travel in the forward direction, which train controls braking and powering?
The Disabled train.
Xtrap recuse Xtrap - Electrically
Who can operation the ESB button?
Both trains can operate the ESB (They’re electrically coupled)
Xtrap recuse Xtrap - Electrically
If the disabled trains has a flat battery what additional step must be done?
The Safety loop 100v supply switch must be open in all cabs of the disabled train that has a flat battery to trickle feed power to the safety loop.
Xtrap pulling Xtrap - Non electrically
What must be isolated before coupling?
The electrical isolate must be turned so the trains will not attempt to couple electrically.
Isolate VICER on both
Isolate the Door Loop Bypass on the assisting train
Xtrap pulling Xtrap - Non electrically
Which train has the trip lowered?
The assisting trains lead cab.
Xtrap pulling Xtrap - Non electrically
Which positions are the EMS for both assisting and disabled train?
Disabled in 3
Assisting in 4
Xtrap pulling Xtrap - Non electrically
How do you charge the brake pipe?
Both trains must have their reverser set to forward and both trains must move the master controller to full service.
Xtrap pulling Xtrap - Non electrically
Which train must raise the trip?
Because the trip is raised, what must be operated?
The disabled train being pulled raises the trip, this will introduce the Auto vigilance button.
Xtrap pulling Xtrap - Non electrically
Which train is in charge when doing the continuity test?
What brake cylinder pressure will be observed in the disabled train?
The assisting train will control the continuity test
The disabled train will observe 0kpa, the assisting train will be keeping the train from rolling away.
Xtrap pulling Xtrap - Non electrically
When moving, what must be done in the disabled train ?
The disabled train must have the reverser in foward and hand pilot valve set.
The Auto vig button must be pressed.
Only the Emergency brake is available
Xtrap pulling Xtrap - Non electrically
What will be controlled by the assisting train during movement?
The assisting train will control power and braking
Full service brake operates on the assisting train as well as the emergency
Xtrap pushing xtrap - Non electrically
What setup is required on the disabled train?
Isolate electrically
Isolate VICERS in lead
EMS to 1
Xtrap pushing xtrap - Non electrically
What setup is required in the assisting train?
Isolate electrically Isolate VICERS Isolate door loop bypass Raise trip (You now have to use auto vig) EMS to 4
When charging the brake pipe, what Brake cylinder pressure will be observed in the disabled train
190, full service.
You have put your EMS to 1.
Xtrap pushing xtrap - Non electrically
Which train provides traction?
Which train provides brakes, which train has full service?
The assisting train provides traction, pushing. 40km
The disabled train controls brakes, you have access to full service and emergency brake.
The assisting train may still operate emergency brake.
Xtrap pushing comeng
What is the EMS set to on the xtrap?
Who powers and at what speed?
Who brakes and what brakes are available?
EMS 5.
Rescuing in propulsion
Assisting xtrap powers, 40km or track speed if lower(pushing)
Disabled comeng brakes. full service and emergency available on both units
Xtrap pushing a comeng.
What is the xtrap setup?
It’s similar to rescuing an Xtrap non-electrically.
Isolate vicers
Isolate door loop bypass
raise your trip (You’re not in the lead)
EMS to 5
Xtrap pulling a comeng
What position is the EMS?
Who powers and at what speed?
Who brakes and what brakes are available??
EMS to 4
Xtrap controls power, you travel at reduced speed
Xtrap controls the brakes, full service is available on the xtrap only emergency on the both units.
You may travel reduced speed (The disabled train is essentially just a big trailer)
Xtrap pulling a comeng
What is the xtrap setup?
It’s similar to rescuing an XTrap non-electrically
Isolate electrically Isolate VICERS Isolate Door Loop by-pass Lower your trip (you're in the lead) EMS 4
Rescuing a Siemens is the same as Rescuing a comeng as far as the xtrap driver needs to know.
