Q
PCDA/Deming Cycle
A
is a continuous improvement process used in business management. It stands for Plan, Do, Check, Act:
- Plan: Identify a goal or a problem and develop a strategy or plan to address it. This involves gathering data, understanding the current situation, and outlining the steps needed to achieve the goal.
- Do: Implement the plan on a small scale to test its effectiveness. This step involves executing the planned actions and starting the process of change.
- Check: Monitor and evaluate the results of the implementation. Compare the outcomes against the expected results to see if the plan is working as intended.
- Act: Based on the evaluation, take action. If the plan was successful, standardize the changes and implement them on a larger scale. If it was not successful, make necessary adjustments and go through the cycle again.
This cycle helps organizations continuously improve processes and solve problems effectively.
