What is midsagittal plane?
makes equal halves
what is the parasagittal plane?
makes unequal halves
Another hame for transverse plane?
cross sectional plane horizontal plane Divides the body into upper or lower halves.
CNS includes what?
- Spinal cord 2. Brain (brainstem, cerebellum, cerebral CTX)
PNS includes?
everything besides the SC and brain.
What is the difference between afferent and efferent?
Afferent -> conducting or conducting inward (sensory neurons that bring information to the CNS.) Efferent-> EXITING the body (motor neurons that go to the periphery).
A bundle of myelinated axons that travel together in the central nervous system is called a
White matter: Tract, lemniscus, fasciculus, column, peduncle, bundle or capsule
Areas of the central nervous system that contain groups of cell bodies are called:
Grey matter: nuclei, basal ganglia, thalamus, CTX
where is white matter located
Brain: innermost layer SC: outermost layer
where is grey matter located?
Brain: outermost layer SC: innermost layer
The white matter of the spinal cord is divided into
- Ventral (Anterior) horn 2. Lateral horn 3. Dorsal
