How is epidermal tissue adapted for its function?
A
- Transparent allowing light to pass through the photosynthetic cells below (upper epidermis).
- Waxy cuticle prevents evaporation of water form it’s surface.

How is palisade mesophyll tissue adapted for its function?
A
- Contains lots of chloroplasts which allows photosynthesis to occur at a rapid rate.

A
- Lots of air spaces which allow gases (including oxygen and carbon dioxide) to diffuse in and out.
