A

contraindication- if a person has one of the contraindications you don’t give the medicine to them.

remember cns depressant effects as someone who has depression as they will have drowsiness etc.

Both Zopiclone and Amitriptyline can have CNS depressant effects. They may increase side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, confusion, and difficulty concentrating.

this is the same with codeine, cyclizine, diazepam, gabapentin, levetricetam.

Q

Patient with liver faliure to be given lower dose of zoplicone - dose of 3.75mg because there is a risk of decreased eliminiation. Decreased elimination means it would take time to come out of the body and the patient could have an overdose.

A

Kidney disease or reduced kidney function may cause this medication to build up in the body, causing side effects. If you have kidney problems, you may require lower doses of this medication.
