How is hydatid disease transmitted?
A
- Hydatid eggs are dispersed int he environment via faeces of an infected dog
- People are infected when they infected when they accidently ingest the eggs
Eg. Patting the dog and then touching your mouth

How to prevent hydatid disease?
A
- Regularly worm your dog
- Wash your hands after handling a dog
- Don’t allow the dog to lick your face
- Avoid contact with dog faeces
