Shen and Emotion: Heart houses shen while liver controls emotion. The shen and emotion are closely related.
These two organs have a common root of mind and essence

The source of intelligence: the heart controls the short term memory and focus while the kidneys control remote memory (remote + long term memory)
These two organs have a direct connection to the outside. They control generation of Qi and transporting of body fluids. When they aren’t doing their jobs it manifests as phlegm and dampness
Lungs and Spleen
These two organs assist in transportation in Qi. And also play roles in qi and blood disorder.
Lung and Liver
The transportation of Qi: Lu Qi descends while liver Qi ascends and these two organs forms the large circle of Qi circulation.
Qi and Blood Disorder: liver fire often hurts the collaterals of the lungs and causes bleeding.
These two organs are connected through San Jiao system; control water metabolism; control respiration; and control the generation of Qi

On water metabolism:involve the transportation of body fluids; involve the excretion of body fluids
Connected through the SJ: Lungs are the upper of water and kidneys the lower source of water
On respiration: lungs control breathing while the kidneys are root of breath
On generation of Qi: Qi inhaled through the lungs have to combine with the Yuan Qi and food Qi

Spleen holds blood and liver stores blood, both can prevent bleeding.
On Digestion: liver ascends qi and helps spleen qi ascending. Liver secretes bile and helps digestion

On generation of qi: food qi (sp/st) combines with the yuan qi in the kidneys to produce the body energy.
With these two organs the relationship between blood and essence are mutually assistant
