Lung Qi Xu
Pulse: Weak/Soft/Short
Tongue: Pale body/Thin-white coat/Normal or swollen
Sx: Weak cough/SOB worse with movement/Clear phlegm/Catch colds easily
No desire to talk/Soft or low voice/Fatigue/Spontaneous sweating/Aversion to wind
Lung Yin Xu
Pulse: Thin/Rapid/Weak/Soft/Hollow/Other deficient pulses
Tongue: Red body/Small amount of coating/Geographic coat
Sx: Dry cough (often blood tinged)/Couch with small amount of sticky sputum/Dryness of mouth or throat/Hoarse voice
Afternoon fever/Hot flashes/Night sweats/Heat sensation in palms and soles of feet
Lung Yang Xu
Pulse: Slippery/Slow/Deep/Weak
Tongue: Thick white coat/Swollen body/Pale/Likely scallops/Wet
Sx: Copious white sputum with cough/Cold throughout body/Cold/SOB/Pallor
Lung Phlegm-Heat
Pulse: Slippery/Rapid/Full/Superficial
Tongue: Red body/Yellow-sticky coat
Sx: Cough with thick yellow sticky sputum/Wheezing/Potentially foul smelling sputum/Chest pain on coughing/SOB
Dryness of mouth/Yellow urine/Constipation
Lung Phlegm-Cold
Pulse: Slippery/Superficial/Full
Tongue: White-sticky coat/Potentially swollen or scalloped
Sx: Cough with profuse white sputum/Fullness or stuffiness in chest/SOB or wheezing
Worse when lying down/Pasty-white complexion
Spleen Qi Xu
Pulse: Weak/Soft/Short
When develops to damp=Slippery
Tongue:Pale body/Thin-white coat/Swollen/Scallops
When develops to damp=Thicker white coat/Sticky coat
Sx: Abdominal bloat/Loose stool/Lack of appetite
Sallow complexion/Emaciation/Fatigue/Weakness of the limbs
Spleen Yang Xu
Pulse: Deep/Weak/Soft/Tight/SLOW***/Scattered/Hidden or firm when cold accumulates
Tongue: Pale body/Swollen/Scalloped/White coat/Thick or white coat when damp involved (almost always involved)
Sx: Poor appetite/Abd bloating worse after eating/Loose stools with undigested food/Pain in abd better with warmth
Sensation of cold (limbs and core)/Pallor/Fatigue/Weakness of limbs/Edema
When qi sinking: prolapses
Potential blood loss (spotting, etc)
Spleen Dampness
Pulse: Slippery
Tongue: Thich white coat/Swollen or scalloped/Pale body
Sx: Fullness and distention in epigastric and abdomen/Lack of appetite/Sweet taste in mouth/No thirst or thirst with no desire to drink/Loose stools or diarrhea/Heaviness in head or body/Worse after resting/White vaginal discharge
Kidney Qi Xu
Pulse: Weak/Soft/Empty/Deep
Tongue: Pale body/White coating/Normal or swollen shape
Sx: Frequent, clear urination/Weak stream of urine/Dribbling urine/Incontinence of urine/Nocturia/Premature ejaculation/Spermatorrhea/Chronic vaginal dscharge/Prolapse of uterus
Sore low back and knees/Fatigue
Kidney Yin Xu
Pulse: Thin/Rapid/Weak/Soft/Hollow/Other deficient pulses
Tongue: Red body/Geographic coat/Thin shape
Sx: Frequent urination/Burning urination/Dryness of labia and vagina/Yellow urination/Nocturia/Nocturnal emission
Sore low back and knees/Fatigue/Dizziness/Tinnitus/Insomnia/Hot flashes/Night sweats
Kidney Yang Xu
Pulse: Weak/Soft/Empty/Deep/SLOW***/Tight/Hidden or firm when cold accumulates
Tongue: Pale body/Thin to thicker white coat/Normal or swollen shape
Sx: Frequent, clear urination/Weak stream of urine/Dribbling urine/Incontinence of urine/Nocturia/Premature ejaculation/Spermatorrhea/Chronic vaginal dscharge/Prolapse of uterus/IMPOTENCE/INFERTILITY
Sore low back and knees/Fatigue/COLD***/Dizziness/Tinnitus
Heart and Kidney Disharmony
(Kd yin xu with heat affecting Ht)
Sx: Insomnia/Restlessness/Irritability/Palpitations/Frequent urination/Burning urination/Dryness of labia and vagina/Nocturia/Yellow urination (shows heat)/Nocturnal emission/Sore low back and knees/Fatigue/Dizziness/Tinnitus/Insomnia/Hot flashes/Night sweats

Tongue: Pale body/Normal shape/Thin white coat
Sx: Palpitations***/SOB on exertion/Spontaneous sweat/Fatigue/Depression/Pale complexion

Pulse: Thin/Thready?Hollow/Leather (when cold present)/Minute/Weak/Soft/Short
Tongue: Pale body/Thin shape/Slight dry coat
Sx: Palpitations/Insomnia/Dream-disturbed sleep/Dizziness and vertigo/Poor memory/Pale skin and lips/ANXIETY/EASILY STARTLED

Pulse: Thin/Rapid/Weak/Soft/Hollow/Other deficient pulses
Tongue: Red body/Geographic or no coat/Thin shape
Sx: Palpitations/Insomnia/Dream-disturbed sleep/Dizziness and vertigo/Poor memory/Pale skin and lips/Anxiety/Easily startled/MENTAL RESTLESSNESS/Fidgety/HEAT SENSATION IN THE PALMS OF HAND AND FEET/NIGHT SWEATS/HOT FLASHES/DRY MOUTH AND THROAT
Liver Qi Stagnation
Pulse: Wiry***/Full
Tongue: Normal to dusky/Thin, white coating
Sx:
Emotions: Tendency to sigh/Feeling of stuffiness or heaviness in chest/Fullness in throat
Pain: Moving around or in costal and hypochondria region/joint pain-sinew pain that moves around/Pain worse with pressure/Headache that moves around
Digestion: Epigastric and abd distention and pain/Belching and poor appetite/Diarrhea, sometimes alt with constipation
Menses: Breast tenderness/Irregular menses or sydmennorhea/PMS/Pain before cycle or on first day
Liver Blood Xu
Pulse: Thin/Thready/Hollow/Leather (when cold present)/Minute/Weak/Soft/Short
Tongue: Pale body/Potentially thin shape/Thin white coat
Sx:
Head: Pale skin, face, lips/Dizziness and vertigo/Floaters in eyes/Blurry vision/Dry eyes/Night blindness/Forgetfulness/Memory loss
Pain: Spasms of tendons or muscles/Weakness of limbs/Numbness of limbs/Dull, achey pain (including dull headaches)/Hyperlaxity in joints
Menses: Light menstrual flow/Late periods or amennorhea/Pain after cycle or towards end of flow/All sx worse after loss of blood
Skin/Hair/Nails: Pale skin or lips/Dry hair/Dry skin/Brittle nails
Liver Yin Xu
Pulse: Thin and wiry in the middle position
Tongue: Deficient tongue: pale/cracked/red tip
Sx: Red eyes/Bitter taste in mouth
Potentially nausea or bloating from ST Qi rebelling invasion
Liver Yang Rising
Pulse: Wiry/Superficial/Thin/Thready/Rapid/Weak, soft, short
Tongue: Red body/Peeled, shiny, or geographic coat/Thin shape
Sx:
Head: Temporal headache or behind eyes/Distending sensation in the head/Dizziness and vertigo/High pitched tinnitus (potentially low pitch too from Kd)/Flushed face/Red eyes/Dry mouth and throat
Emotions/Sleep: Irritability/Insomnia and dream disturbed sleep/Emotionally ‘stressed’/Easy to anger/Palpitations
Concurrent Sx-Kd Yin Xu: Poor memory coming from kidney xu/Sore low back and knee pain/Night sweats/Spermatorrhea/Infertility/Low libido
