describe opposition of yin and yang
they are at opposite stages of the cycle.
nothing is totally yin or yan there are degrees of both in everything but never 50/50 - its a dynamic and constantly changing balance.
eg the human body remains a constant temperature (unless ill) its not the result of a static situation but a balance of opposing forces.
describe interdependence
One cannot exist without the other. Everything contains opposite forces which are mutually exclusive but, at the same time they depend on each other. Day cannot become night without day.
describe mutual consuming/interconsuming
weak yan - strong yin
excess/predominant yan - decrease in yin
vice versa
they are not the same thing - what is primary and what is secondary
predominance in yin is primary and as a consequence consumes yan
weakness of yang is primary and as a consequence yin with appear in excess
describe intertransformation
movement of becoming the other
Summer/spring predominantly yang becomes more yin as we move into autumn then winter
