What are the five dimensions of health?
Physical, emotional, spiritual, mental and social health.
What kind of foods should we be eating and which should we be avoiding?
We should be eating healthy nutritious food and a balanced diet. We should be avoiding large amounts of fats and oily foods.
What are some examples of proteins?
Eggs, dairy products, poultry, fish, lean meats.
What are some examples of fats?
Palm and coconut oils, butter, eggs, red meat, whole milk dairy products.
What some examples of carbohydrates?
Bread, beans, milk, potatoes, cookies, pasta.
What is Australia’s guide to healthy eating?
1/3 vegetables, 1/3 grain, small bit of fruit, bigger bit of dairy and a medium bit of protein.
What are the benefits of exercise?
Your muscles grow stronger, you can prevent illness, it is good for your mental health, help manage weight.
How much exercise should we be getting a day?
Children - 60 minutes a day
Adults - 2 1/2 hours a day
Elders - 30 minutes a day
Why do people not exercise?
Not motivated to, not physically able to, don’t have enough time.
Why do people exercise?
To get healthier, to take care of their mental health, lose weight.
How do you reduce sedentary behaviour?
Take regular breaks from looking at a screen, stand instead of sitting.
What are some relaxation and stress reduction methods?
Take deep breaths, get some exercise, meditate, do a hobby you enjoy, make art and music.
What do respectful relationships look like?
Loyalty, kindness, respecting others privacy, honesty, open communication.
What are relationship rights?
To be respected, to be able to say no, have feelings, speak up.
What are relationship responsibilities?
Determine limit and values, respect others, give others space, to communicate clearly and honestly, ask for help, try not to have power, respect privacy.
