Superlative adjectives
-used to describe the highest degree of a quality
-these add in the letters, -issim, -errim, or -illim, depending on the adjective
e.g. puella est ALTISSIMA > the girl is the tallest/very tall
Superlative adjectives irregular
-canis est MAXIMUS > the dog is very big/the biggest
-canis est MINIMUS > the dog is very small/ the smallest
-cibus est PESSIMUS > the food is the worst/ very bad
-cibus est OPTIMUS > the food is the best/ very good
-sunt PLURIMI homines > there are very many people
Comparative adjectives masculine or feminine
-these are used to describe a higher degree of a quality
-these add in the letters -ior
e.g. the girl is taller/more tall > puella est ALTIOR

Irregular comparative adjectives

How to compare two things?
-when comparing two things, use either ‘quam’ or a noun in the ABLATIVE case
e.g. puella est altior quam puer/ puella est altior puero > the girl is taller than the boy
