How many points do you need to get to win Badminton?
The first player to score 21 points wins the game. A player must win by 2 points e.g. 21-19 not 20-21.
You win a point if…
You hit the shuttle over the net into the playing area and your opponent doesn’t return it.
Your opponent hits the shuttle and it doesn’t go over the net.
It lands outside of the playing area.
Your opponent serves incorrectly.
Serve:
Below the waist. Underarm. Behind the service line. Must reach the opposite service box. Only one chance to serve.
Jumps:
Standing long jump.
Standing triple jump.
Vertical jump.
Throws:
Overhead heave.
Chest push.
Shot put.
Javelin.
Mobility:
Shuttle run.
Speed bounce.
High stepper.
How to identify your best score?
Throw or a jump= furthest distance/largest number
Shuttle run or high-stepper= quickest time/smallest number
Speed bounce= Highest number/most jumps

Basic Rules
Offside - must stay within set areas
Footwork - must not move your landing foot when you have the ball
3 seconds - must not have the ball for longer than three seconds
Obstruction - must be at least 1m away from the player who has the ball
Contact - must not make contact with any other player
Where can each player go?
GS - shooting circle and attacking third
GA - shooting circle, attacking third and centre third
WA - attacking third or centre third
C - everywhere apart from the shooting circles
WD - Defensive third and centre third
GD - shooting circle, defensive third and centre third
GK - shooting circle and defensive third
