what happened religiously that caused the civil war?
King Charles married a French catholic wife he also changed religious practices which and the parliament
What were the two types of Christian churches?
Protestant and catholic
What were the different type of protestants and what did they do?
Arminian churches were decorated and priest would wear colourful robes which Charles believed in as well as lots of parliament as for puritain were very strict and Catholicism was an evil conspiracy, press weren’t as important and churches looked plain
What was the theory about Charles?
That he was a secret Catholic because of the rules he put in place
How did Charles treat Parliament?
He treated them with disrespect as he ignored them for 11 years when they should work together and then when he needed money asked them for it
What happened when Parliament wouldn’t give him money?
He raised taxes, which angered a lot of people
What happened with Scotland?
Charles sent an army to Scotland to force the Scots to end rebellion and accept the new prayer book. The Scottish army was good, so Charles signed a truce but had no intention to keep as word however Charles had no money to raise more soldiers and needed new taxes.

How did Parliament win?
They created the new model army which was the first professional army and they were paid for their job. It was also strict and based on skill not wealth.
Explain parliament victory
One reason for parliament victory is that they had more men also the new model army thought well and very welcome commanded by Oliver Cromwell trousers Army with destructed from plundering supplies from parliament
