Rare IN CHILDREN Epiphyseal Tumor oval or round and lytic Fluffy or cotton wool
Giant cell Tumor
Aggressive
Cartilage covered over 20 years old
Soap bubble and expansile
may be PAINFUL
Osteochondroma
Cartilage covered osseous EXOSTOSIS from metaphysis
spontaneous or traumatic
sessile or pedunculated
NVE or bursa may develop at tip of lesion
HME
Autosomal dominant development of multiple osteochondromas– can turn into chondrosarcoma
Hemangioma
may be slightly expansile, quartoroy, coarse verticle trabeculae
Chondroma
rare slowgrowing lesion from notochord
medullary fills with hyaline cartilage usually in SACRAL REGION
Enchondroma
What are multiple called?
Geographic, lytic expansile lesion of hands.
Enchondromatosis
Multiple of those ^^^ aka Olliers
multiple usually one sided and if accompanied by soft tissue abnormalities its called mafffucci’s
Enostosis
aka bone island
Dense osseous round tissue mass
osteopoikilosis if multiple small masses
(Sclerosing displasia)
Osteoid Osteoma
Radiolucent nidus
surrounded by dense reactive sclerosis
pain at night relieved by asprin
osteoblastoma
giant osteoid osteoma, MAY ENLARGE SPINOUS OR INVADE NEURAL ARCH.
NOF
Solitary, metaphyseal eccentric oval shaped lesion, scalloped border, soap bubble appearence, lytic or hazy
Fibrous Cortical Defect
Lytic metaphyseal geographic region with sclerotic border
ABC
BLOOD FILLED, eccentric, metaphyseal lesion Saccular soap bubble May have "BLOWN OUT APPEARENCE" or "FINGER IN BALLOON" may be PAINFUL
SBC or unicameral bone cyst
Singular central geographic filled with CLEAR FLUID
May have FALLEN FRAGMENT SIGN
FIBROUS DISPLASIA
Great imatator less than 20 years old
metaphyseal, may exhibit “RIND sign”
Cafe au lait(coast of main) or Albright syndrome in females
