- Freed Canadians that were captured during the war
- Sent in food and other reliefs that would help the people held captive
- Rough conditions, many casualties from the deaths
- Dutch people still thank Canada for their help

- Appeasement (did not want to start a war, so they agreed with everything Hitler said)
- The Nazi army started to rise and ignored the Treaty
- Hitler could go forward with plans without worrying about the League of Nations stepping in
- Hitler invades Poland which starts the war
