Define Literature.
The collective, creative writing based on a specific idea / topic.
What is the Perception of Conflict?
It is the disagreement between parties leading to a battle, whether that be physical, verbal, mental, etc.
What is the theme Mateship?
It is the intimate bond between individuals who have suffered through hardship together. It includes the values of loyalty, equality, kinship and solidarity.
What is the Nature of War?
Nature of War is the violence caused by Conflict, that affects every human involved, in every aspect of their lives.
Define Futility.
It is the pointlessness or a useless act.
What is T.E.E.L?
Topic Sentence, Evidence, Explain, Link.
What is a Metaphor? Provide an example.
It is a comparison of 2 things that although may not be accurate, get your point across. E.g, drowning in grief.
What is a Simile? Provide an example.
Like a metaphor, it compares 2 things but uses the words ‘like’ or ‘as’. E.g, her cheeks blushed like a rose.
What is Personification? Provide an example.
It is the comparison of a non-living thing, acting as a human. E.g, the tree danced in the wind.
What is Allegory?
A story / narrative that is interpreted to reveal a hidden meaning / moral.
What is Repetition? Provide an example.
It is the use of a certain phrase more than once. E.g, This is torture. This is cruel human nature. This is wrong.
What is Euphemism? Provide an example.
A mild / indirect expression that is used to substitute something rude, harsh or unpleasant.
What is Alliteration? Provide an example.
It is the use of repeating the first letter in a word more than once. E.g, My Mother Makes Me Mash My Mini Mnm’s on a Monday Morning.
What is a Rhetorical Question? Provide an example.
It is a question that doesn’t need to be answered, as everyone already knows the answer. E.g, Did I ask?
What is Assonance?
It is the repetition of a vowel sound more than once.
What is Consonance?
It is the repetition of consonant sounds more than once.
What is imagery?
It is a part of figurative language, and depicts an image of your description.
