Compulsory enlistment for state service, typically into the armed services.

An acronym that represents the Treaty of Versailles (Blame, Reparations, Army, Territory/Territorial Clauses).
M.A.I.N.
An acronym that represents the causes of WWI (Militarism, Alliances, Imperialism, Nationalism).
Triple Alliance
The opposing forces in WWI (Germany, Italy, and Austria-Hungary).
Triple Entente
The allied forces in WWI (Britain, France, and Russia).
Militarism
Building up armed forces and getting ready for war.
Imperialism
Trying to build up an empire.
Treaty of Versailles
The treaty that marked the end of WWI (signed on June 28, 1919).
Trench Warfare
A war tactic in which soldiers run and crawl through trenches trying to eliminate the opposing team. Stalemate occurs when neither team is able to advance.
