Abiotic Components
Non-Living parts that shape an ecosystem. (S.W.A.T.S. soil, water, air, temperature, and sunlight).
Ecologists
People who focus their studies on the interactions of living things with one another and with the non-living parts of the natural environment.
Climate
The average temperature and precipitation in an area over a long period of time (usually a year).
L.O.W.E.R. Near Water
The acronym of factors that affect climate (Latitude, Ocean currents, prevailing Winds, Elevation, Relief (shape of the land), Near Water).
Ecozone
The broadest bio-geographical division of the Earth’s land surface, based on distributional patterns of terrestrial and marine.
Region
The basic unit of study in geography.
Biotic Components
Living parts that shape an ecosystem. (Consumers, Producers, and Decomposers).
