A

The politicians announced their decision to the world . Germany’s punishments , set out in a huge document called the Treaty of Versailles

What were the treaty of Versailles agreements/rules

A

Germany must pay for the damage they have done in the war the figure was set at £6600 million they also must sign to agree they started the war

They must remove their air force or submarines. Only have a tiny army and navy. No tanks or submarines and no German soldiers near France

Germany to hand over colonies to France

Parts of countries cut off to make new countries

League of nations set up. All countries should join this so they can talk about their problems rather than fighting it

What is the league of nations

A

After the losers of the war was punsished the winners turned their attention to trying to stop wars forever they did this by setting up the League of Nations. A kind of international club for settling problems peacefully .

A

Had its own armed forces

USA never joined and Japan, Germany and Soviet Union all left

Japan invaded China in 1931

Italy invaded Ethiopia in 1935

Germany expanded territory in Europe between 1936 and 1939
