what is an arms race and why was it used in world war 1
an arms race simply means countries competing to see whos better in world war one it was Germany vs Britain to see who had the biggest army/navy
who were apart of the triple entente and the triple alliance
the triple entente: Russia, France, Britain
the triple alliance: Germany, Austria-Hungary, Italy
how does nationalism play a part
Serbia and Austria-Hungary’s constant quarrels over
land and people resulted in the formation of the terrorist
group the Black Hand
why did Canada join?
first, because they were fighting being apart of Brittian and the second part is that after a long while in the war they became not fighting and being apart of Brittian al a Vimy ridge

what were the terms for germany in this treaty
• Germany’s army was to be reduced - (100,000 men)
• Navy was to be downsized (Can’t build submarines)
• NO air force
• Alsace Lorraine given back to France
• Germany lost of all its colonies
• Rhineland was to be demilitarized
• Alliance with Austria was forbidden
• Recognize new countries (ie. Poland, Czechslovakia)
• Accept war guilt clause - blamed for starting the war
• AND … Pay reparations for the cost of the war =
US $33 billion!!!
