Process in which a person controls their own life OR Process in which a country determines it own statehood and creates its own allegiance and government.

A contractual obligation for one party to compensate for the losses of another party.

Collapse of Austria-Hungary and Ottoman Empire.

Fundamental beliefs that distinguish groups from each other in terms of politics, religion, culture, or social issues.
What was the Conscription Crisis in Canada? (1917)
A crisis regarding the conscription of Canadian men which had outlined the divide between the French and English Canadians in Canada. The French had no interest in fighting for the British Empire while the Brits HEAVILY supported it. Once conscription act was put into place, only 20000 of the 400000 showed up for training.
How did Canada join WW1?
When Britain declared war, as a british colony Canada was forced into the war.
Goals of Nations within the Treaty of Versailles? - Britain Interest
Aimed for balance in penalties but wanted to prevent German aggressions. Wanted to preserve trade relations and gain land for Britain’s empire.

Sought revenge and security, with harsh penalties, and to return Alsace Lorraine to France. Wanted to demilitarize Germany, and crush its economy with a hefty fine.

Wanted peace based on his fourteen points, where he wanted to remove secret treaties, reduce armaments in countries, and self determination for many peoples in Europe. Created/layed the foundation of ideas for a League of Nations.

He got shot in head whilst going for a drive in an open top car. He was attacked by terrorists, after his driver takes a wrong turn.
