Mission of MAWTS-1

THE MISSION OF MAWTS-1 IS TO PROVIDE STANDARDIZED ADVANCED TACTICAL TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION OF UNIT INSTRUCTOR QUALIFICATIONS IN ORDER TO SUPPORT MARINE AVIATION TRAINING AND READINESS. MAWTS-1 ALSO PROVIDES ASSISTANCE IN THE DEVELOPMENT AND EMPLOYMENT OF AVIATION WEAPONS AND TACTICS

Responsibilities of Squadron/Unit CO’s within WTTP

Answer 2

Squadron/Unit - Ensure professionally managed WTTP is conducted that supports unit’s mission, METL, and T&R. Also:
-Nominated qualified PWTI’s
Assign officer and enlisted WTI’s to each unit WTI T/O billet.
-Maintain sufficient numbers of WTI’s to support operational deployment and contingence requirements and ensure proper turnover and continuity in these billets
-Select candidates for unit instructor certifications.
-Authorize MAWTS-1 Officer aircrew to act as PIC when requested for instructor certs or unit training support.

Question 3

Identify responsibilities of WTI’s within WTTP

Answer 3

-Develop and execute unit training program IAW WTTP that supports CO’s training guidance
-Serve as unit SME for planning, briefing, threats, unit weapons system employment, integration of unit’s mission in support of MAGTF and join tasking
-Recommend most qualified personnel for nomination to WTI course
-Ensure all training conducted under your supervision adheres to established training standards, safety, and ORM procedures.
