Q

A pet owner stops in while you’re working at the front desk. He’s from out of town visiting family. His dog has Cushing’s disease and needs to take his medicine every day. While they were traveling their bottle of medicine spilled and was ruined. He would like a refill and has his empty bottle in hand. How will you help this customer? Give a little dialogue (must have 2 of 4 key points)

A

Let the owner know that his dog’s health is our top priority.

To provide the best care, we need to perform a patient health exam and establish a relationship with his dog before we can prescribe medications.

We could call the dog’s primary vet clinic and gather their information about the dogs health history but this will not replace the VCPR (valid client patient relationship) that will need to be established for meds to be prescribed.
