Important main ideas from the passage, why was it written and why do they want me to read this passage?
Well organized first, second and third or furthermore
Try not to copy any words from passage
Spelling is important, if you dont know how to spell it dont write it

What types of writing can be included in the open response

Answer 2

A variety of sentences long and short, using different transition words.
The conversation in your head, what is the most important, looking for words and things in the passage that you understand and not things you dont.

What is included in the composition exercise

Answer 3

2 passages that take a compelling position on an issue.
Persuasive 300-600 word response in which you argue one of the positions…looking for the position that has the most evidence and seeing that there is evidence on one side

What does it mean to have a clear piece of writing

Overview of what is being talked about
Clear thesis statement
Showing that you know and understand the sides of the argument, then coming down on a side that you agree with and have evidence for.
